Customer Feedback from Australia: Upgrading an 8-Year Proven Blackout Greenhouse
We are pleased to share feedback from one of our long-term customers in Australia.

The greenhouse shown in the photos was originally constructed more than eight years ago and remains in excellent operating condition today. Built with durable polycarbonate (PC) panels and a fully automated environmental control system, the facility has become a reliable production space for high-value crops.
Recently, the customer expanded the growing area by installing new aluminum ebb and flow benches to further improve cultivation efficiency and crop management.
Triple Blackout Screen System for Complete Light Control
One of the most distinctive features of this greenhouse is its triple-layer blackout screen system.
The blackout curtains are automatically controlled and can achieve nearly 100% light deprivation when closed.
This allows growers to precisely manage photoperiods and create optimal growing conditions for crops that require strict light control, including:
- Medical cannabis
- Industrial hemp
- Mushrooms
- Ornamentals
- Flowering plants
By eliminating unwanted light intrusion, growers can maintain consistent production schedules and maximize crop quality throughout the year.
Durable Polycarbonate Greenhouse Structure
Unlike traditional plastic film greenhouses, this project utilizes a high-performance polycarbonate covering system.
Benefits include:
✔ Excellent thermal insulation
✔ Long service life
✔ Strong impact resistance
✔ Reduced maintenance costs
✔ Better environmental stability
The fact that the greenhouse has been operating successfully for over eight years demonstrates the durability and reliability of the structure.
New Ebb and Flow Benches for Medical Cannabis Cultivation
To optimize production, the customer recently installed aluminum ebb and flow benches throughout the greenhouse.
The ebb and flow system provides several advantages:
Uniform Irrigation
Water and nutrients are delivered evenly to all plants, improving crop consistency.
Water Conservation
Excess irrigation water is collected and reused, reducing water consumption and operating costs.
Improved Labor Efficiency
The bench layout simplifies daily crop management and maintenance activities.
Cleaner Growing Environment
Flood-and-drain irrigation minimizes standing water and helps maintain a cleaner cultivation area.
For commercial medical cannabis production, these advantages contribute directly to higher yields and improved plant quality.
A Proven Solution for Controlled Environment Agriculture
This project demonstrates how durable greenhouse infrastructure and modern cultivation equipment can work together to support long-term commercial production.
After more than eight years of operation, the greenhouse continues to deliver reliable performance while adapting to new cultivation requirements through equipment upgrades such as ebb and flow benches.
For growers seeking professional solutions for medical cannabis, flowers, seedlings, or other high-value crops, a fully automated blackout greenhouse remains one of the most effective controlled-environment growing systems available.
